American Rare Earths Limited has kicked off its 2024 drilling campaign at the Cowboy State Mine (“CSM”) area, signaling a significant milestone in advancing their mining operations. With 23 planned holes, including 11 core holes and 12 reverse circulation (“RC”) holes, totaling approximately 2,670 meters, the company aims to upgrade resource estimates and gather crucial data for mine planning and prefeasibility analysis.
The primary objectives of the drilling campaign are to upgrade resource estimates to measured and indicated categories, increase resource depth, extend the western boundary, collect samples for geomechanical, hydrological, and baseline environmental testing, and gather material for additional metallurgical test work.
Through the collaboration with FTE Drilling, who successfully completed the 2023 campaign on-time and on-budget, American Rare Earths is confident in achieving their goals for this year. CEO Donald Swartz expressed excitement about the commencement of the campaign, emphasizing the importance of in-fill drilling for upgrading resource estimates and supporting pit design and environmental studies.
Chairman Richard Hudson highlighted the significance of the drilling program in advancing the project towards prefeasibility analysis, emphasizing that the data and samples collected will enhance their ability to develop a robust and sustainable mining operation.
The exploration plan involves drilling 23 holes over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, with the aim of gathering comprehensive geological data to support prefeasibility studies.
