During an online meeting with carriers from Romania and Moldova, representatives of Ukrainian Railways highlighted the changes in cargo transportation. While there was a decrease in the volumes of oil cargo, construction materials, and grain, there was an increase in the transportation of ore, scrap, and ferrous metals.

In addition to the increased transfer of iron ore to Moldova, Ukrainian Railways also transported 1.57 million tons of cargo through the Ukrainian-Romanian railway border crossings in the first half of 2024. This represents a 6% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
