Power Nickel Inc. announced the addition of Dr. Steve Beresford, a highly respected geoscientist, as a Special Advisor. With a distinguished career that includes roles at major mining companies such as First Quantum and MMG, as well as being the Chief Geoscientist at IGO Ltd., Dr. Beresford brings a wealth of experience to Power Nickel.
Dr. Beresford’s expertise lies in magmatic Nickel-Copper-PGE deposits, with extensive field exploration experience across 66 countries. His knowledge in this area is expected to greatly benefit Power Nickel, particularly in relation to their Nisk project.
CEO Terry Lynch expressed his excitement about the collaboration with Dr. Beresford, emphasizing the significance of having a top expert like him on board. Dr. Beresford also shared his reasons for joining Power Nickel, citing his career-long focus on Nickel sulfides and his interest in transforming NISK into a polymetallic deposit.
As part of the arrangement, Dr. Beresford will receive a $100,000 cash consulting fee for his technical input over the next 12 months. Additionally, Power Nickel plans to conduct a flow-through private placement financing to support exploration activities on the NISK property in Quebec.
The company’s focus on developing the high-grade Nisk project into Canada’s first Carbon Neutral Nickel mine highlights their commitment to sustainable mining practices. With Dr. Beresford’s expertise and the upcoming financing plans, Power Nickel is poised for significant advancements in their exploration program.
