Approval Granted for Construction and Operations Permits of German Lithium Refinery to Rock Tech Lithium

Rock Tech Lithium Inc. has reached a milestone in its mission to produce lithium hydroxide for electric vehicle batteries. The company has announced that it has received full permits for its planned Lithium refinery in Guben, Germany. This approval comes after an extensive review by the Brandenburg State Office for the Environment, marking Rock Tech as the first company in Europe to permit a full-scale Lithium Refinery without any appeals to the project.

Rock Tech’s Chairman and CEO, Dirk Harbecke, expressed his excitement about this achievement, stating, “This is an exciting day for Rock Tech. Not only have we received the full permits to operate our Converter in Germany, but also are we the first company in Europe to permit a full-scale Lithium Refinery – without any appeals to the project. This is testament to the great work of our team.”

The Company plans to produce 24,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide annually at the Guben facility, with plans to build a second Lithium converter in Red Rock, Ontario, Canada. Rock Tech aims to source raw materials from its Georgia Lake spodumene project in Ontario, as well as from responsibly producing mines and discarded batteries in the future.

Rock Tech has positioned itself as a cleantech company dedicated to sustainability and transparency in the electric vehicle battery supply chain. With a focus on efficiency and environmental responsibility, the Company is working towards creating a closed-loop lithium production system to meet the growing demand for clean mobility solutions.
