DLP Resources Inc. has announced the continuation of drilling operations on the NZOU critical metals project in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. The drilling program, which originally started in 2023, was re-started on June 18, 2024, with drillhole NZ23-01 being the focus of current efforts. The drillhole was initially halted in July 2023 due to permit restrictions but has now resumed.
The ongoing drilling has already unveiled significant alterations in the rocks, including zones of albitization, chloritization, and sericitization. Traces of important minerals such as pyrrhotite, pyrite, and sphalerite have also been observed at different depths. The presence of sphalerite within the Sullivan horizon, along with the development of a magnetotelluric anomaly, prompted the decision to extend the drilling by another 300 meters.
This continued drilling aims to confirm the potential economic mineralization of zinc-lead-silver to approximately 1650m depth. The company’s president and CEO, Ian Gendall, expressed his excitement over the progress, highlighting the positive signs and data obtained from previous drilling efforts in the area.
The NZOU project is strategically located near the historic Sullivan mine, which was a significant producer of zinc, lead, and silver. The current exploration efforts by DLP Resources aim to replicate the success of the Sullivan mine and tap into the potential mineral resources present in the region.
