CleanTech Lithium, an exploration and development company focusing on sustainable lithium projects in Chile, recently inaugurated its Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) pilot plant in Copiapó. Executive Chairman and Interim CEO Steve Kesler expressed pride in this milestone, highlighting the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable lithium production in Chile’s Atacama region. This move aligns with the National Lithium Strategy set by the Chilean Government, positioning CleanTech Lithium to meet the international demand for battery-grade lithium carbonate.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Ercilia Araya Altamirano, President of the Pai-Ote Community, and Luis Pino, the Presidential Delegate of the Atacama Region. Araya praised the plant’s development and emphasized the importance of collaborating with indigenous communities to minimize environmental impact. Pino echoed this sentiment, lauding CleanTech Lithium’s efforts to engage with local communities and adhere to sustainable practices.
During the event, Kesler showcased the progress made in processing brine from Laguna Verde and the dispatch of the first batch to Conductive Energy’s plant in the United States. This positive outcome reflects CleanTech Lithium’s commitment to producing high-quality lithium products using DLE technology powered by renewable energy.
