Metals Creek Updates Progress on Blackflake West (Feagan Lake) Graphite Project

Metals Creek Resources has received an update on its pending work program for the Blackflake West (Feagan Lake) graphite project from Xmet Inc. The project includes an all-channel electromagnetic response target discovered near the western boundary of Zenyatta’s Albany graphite diatreme.

Geotech’s VTEM survey in March 2014 identified the anomaly as a steeply dipping conductor with several key features: an all-channel electromagnetic response, a magnetic low associated with the EM response, a strike length structure over one kilometre, similarity to Zenyatta’s graphite diatreme pipes, and a high-correlation EM response with a graphite source.

Xmet will conduct additional work to define the location and core of the target, pending the receipt of necessary permits from Ontario’s Ministry of Northern Development and Mines. The upcoming work includes a new airborne magnetic and EM survey, ground reconnaissance, ground geophysics, and drill testing.

“We are pleased to see Xmet move forward on the Blackflake West project and look forward to the follow-up geophysical and drill program,” said Alexander Stares, President and CEO of Metals Creek Resources.

Metals Creek Resources is a junior exploration company with interests in gold properties and a joint venture agreement with Xmet on the graphite project. The corporation is actively engaged in identifying, acquiring, and developing mineral resource properties in Ontario, Yukon, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
