Euro Manganese Celebrates Successful Commissioning of High Purity Manganese Demonstration Plant

Euro Manganese has announced the successful commissioning of its high purity manganese demonstration plant at the Chvaletice manganese project in the Czech Republic. This milestone achievement marks a significant step forward for the company as it aims to become a leading producer of high purity manganese for the electric vehicle industry.

Independent external laboratories have confirmed that samples of high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) produced at the plant meet the DP design target HPMSM specifications with low levels of impurities. This allows Euro Manganese to produce bulk, multi-tonne finished product samples of HPMSM and/or HPEMM for prospective customers’ supply chain qualification, reducing the timeline to test products from the commercial plant in the future.

The demonstration plant has the capacity to produce approximately 33kg of HPEMM per day, which can be converted into approximately 100kg per day of HPMSM. The Chvaletice project reprocesses old tailings from a decommissioned mine and is the only sizable resource of manganese in the European Union.

Euro Manganese is not only focused on the Czech Republic project but also exploring opportunities to produce battery-grade manganese products in Quebec, Canada. With the successful commissioning of the demonstration plant, the company is one step closer to achieving its goal of becoming a key player in the battery materials industry.
