Giyani Metals Corp. is making significant strides in the development of the K.Hill Battery-Grade Manganese Project in Botswana. The construction at the Demonstration Plant in Johannesburg is progressing rapidly following the drawdown on the US$26 million funding package. With over 60 engineers and technicians on-site, key contractors mobilized, and the installation of the first two modular process skids completed, the Demo Plant is on track for commissioning in Q4 2024.
The Demo Plant, consisting of nine Process Modules, is a crucial step for Giyani to produce battery-grade manganese for the electric vehicle industry. The construction process has been strategically planned to facilitate a smooth ramp-up to achieve on-specification product for offtaker testing and qualification.
Danny Keating, President and CEO of Giyani Metals Corp., expressed his enthusiasm for the rapid progress of the construction activities. He emphasized the importance of the Demo Plant in demonstrating the value of the Project to potential partners and financiers. The ability to provide offtakers with significant product samples for testing will further de-risk the Project and showcase its commercial viability.
Overall, Giyani remains focused on becoming a leading producer of sustainable, low carbon high purity battery-grade manganese. With strategic financing in place and a clear roadmap for development, the Company is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle industry.
