Beauce Gold Fields Makes Groundbreaking Discovery of Silver Content in Gold Grains
Montreal, Quebec, Canada – Beauce Gold Fields (TSXV: BGF) has recently made a significant discovery in the chemistry of gold grains recovered from the Grondin antiform outcrop on the Beauce Gold property in southern Quebec. The scan electron analysis revealed that the gold grains contain 15% silver and 85% gold, marking a major milestone in the Company’s exploration efforts.
Patrick Levasseur, President and CEO of Beauce Gold Fields, expressed his excitement about the discovery, stating, “The recent rise in the price of silver, along with the presence of silver in the gold grains and drill cores, provides valuable insights into the origins of our historic placer gold deposit.”
The analysis was conducted by GEOX Inc., which characterized the chemistry of the gold grains recovered from the bulk sample of the Grondin antiform outcrop. The results revealed that the silver content in the gold grains is relatively homogeneous, with trace elements of cadmium and mercury present in half of the samples.
Interestingly, the silver content in the Grondin gold grains is comparable to that recovered from past placer gold mining operations in the area, further supporting the idea that mineralized antiform structures are the source of historic placer gold deposits.
The discovery of silver in the gold grains adds a new dimension to Beauce Gold Fields’ exploration efforts and may lead to further insights into the geological processes that have shaped the region’s gold deposits. The Company is currently focused on exploring the potential for economic lode gold deposits in the area, with the ultimate goal of tracing old placer gold workings back to their bedrock source.
