Garrett Metal Detectors, a Texas-based company, has recently partnered with CIS Seguridad to deploy 19 PD 6500i walk-through metal detectors in 15 locations across Colombia. Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia (Aerocivil) selected Garrett through a competitive tender process for this acquisition, showcasing their trust in Garrett’s expertise and technology.
The PD 6500i detectors are known for meeting international airport security standards such as TSA and ECAC certifications, making them a popular choice for airports, hotels, government buildings, and major sporting events worldwide. Aerocivil’s decision to choose Garrett was influenced by their positive past experiences with the PD 6500i’s reliability, detection capabilities, and user-friendly interface.
Leo Zelenkevich, International Security Sales Director at Garrett, highlighted the benefits of the PD 6500i detectors, stating, “Garrett offers effective detection solutions along with remote management tools that enhance airport security checkpoints.” The addition of the iC Module for remote management and monitoring further solidifies the PD 6500i’s place in airport screening environments.
The airports across Colombia that will be receiving the Garrett metal detectors include Golfo De Morrosquillo Airport, Santiago Pérez Quiroz Airport, La Florida Airport, and others in various departments. With their extensive certifications and track record of reliability, the PD 6500i detectors are set to enhance the security measures at these Colombian airports, providing passengers and staff with peace of mind during their travels.
