In honor of Star Wars Day (May the 4th) and the upcoming 25th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace,” Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is releasing the new limited edition Sith Apprentice: Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber hilt set.
Priced at $400, the set comes in a collector’s box that is black with red designs inspired by Darth Maul’s facial markings. The box is distressed to appear old and worn, adding to its unique aesthetic. The Aurebesh on the side of the box translates to “At last, we will have revenge,” a famous line spoken by Maul in “The Phantom Menace.”
With a limited edition size of 7,000, the Legacy Lightsaber set includes a themed card with the edition number and another Darth Maul quote: “Fear attracts the fearful, the strong, the weak, the innocent, the corrupt. Fear, fear is my ally.” The set features a long double hilt made of silver metal with conical emitters that will illuminate two blades (sold separately) in red.
A switch inside the box lights up the interior red and plays a segment of “Duel of the Fates,” the iconic musical theme composed by John Williams for the climactic lightsaber battle in “The Phantom Menace.”
Fans can also find the legacy lightsaber hilt at Disneyland Resort and online at the Disney Store.
